Diversity of Ectoparasites in Native Chicken (Gallus gallus Domesticus) in Mandau Duri District, Riau

Native chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a livestock animal that widely kept by the community because it very easy to maintain. chickens are used as staple food contains protein. This study aims determine prevalence and intensity of ectoparasite attacks describe types ectoparasites found in native Mandau Duri District, Riau. The research was conducted December 2022-February 2023. random sampling method. Identification analyzed descriptively with book references, data analysis calculated formulas. results three species ticks namely Menopon gallinae, Menacanthus stramineus cornutus. calculation showed highest gallinae (32.5% 3.62), lowest cornutus (25% 3.1). total (87.5%) categorized common moderate infection (9.72) moderate.
